Start up of gas engine

The installation and commissioning of the gas engine at Lithiuan Energy Institute (LEI) is in good progress.

LEI has started the gas engine on natural gas and will step by step move forward with low calorific gas and oxygen-enriched combustion air.

Installation of gas engine for oxygen-enriched combustion

Within the LoCaGas project, Lithuanian Energy Institute (LEI) in collaboration with UAB Addeco is working on oxygen-enriched combustion of landfill gas with low methane content for green power production.

The testing will be done with a 30 kWel genset from TEDOM.

The genset, gas engine and generator, was received at the end of April, unpacked and moved to the lab and pilot testing container.

The container has been equipped with electrical connections, gas supply, exhaust gas system and heat exchanger for the secondary circuit.

The first tests with model gas at LEI will commence shortly. Later on the container will be moved to a landfill and tested with real landfill gas.
